Originally from Torreón, Coahuila, México. Octavio Rivas is a talented tenor who has performed on the most prestigious stages in Mexico and around the world. Winner and finalist of several National and International Singing Competitions, his career has been marked by memorable performances in leading roles in operas such as Aida, La Traviata, I Pagliacci, La Bohème, and Tosca.

In 2017, he made his debut as Alfredo in La Traviata in Princeton, New Jersey, solidifying his reputation as a highly talented tenor. Since then, he has continued to captivate audiences with his interpretation of iconic characters and concert music with various orchestras and theaters in Mexico, the United States, and Europe.

With a powerful voice and captivating stage presence, he continues to win over audiences and leave his mark on the opera scene. At the end of 2022, he collaborated with photographer Neal Slavin for the International Center of Photography in Manhattan, New York. In October 2023, he performed as Radamés in Aida at the reopening of the Teatro Juárez in Guanajuato, alongside soprano María Katzarava in the title role.

In addition to his successful performing career, Octavio Rivas is also notable for his work as Associate Director of the Mexico District of the Metropolitan Opera's Laffont Competition, and for his collaboration with the Viva Brooklyn Opera Festival. Thanks to his commitment to young Mexican talent, he has positioned several promising Mexican artists in the most prestigious opera studios worldwide.
